To call Taylor Persh’s previous endeavor a “restaurant” seems a disservice. Her 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea dinners at Lost Spirits Distillery blurred the lines between dinner party and theater. Taking inspiration from the Jules Verne novel of the same name, she developed a multi-course menu with small pieces of sea urchin pressed into a ceramic mouth and braised squid tentacles pulled on sabers. Servers moved around the communal dining table with choreographed precision – often eliciting something from The menu. And the highlight of the whole experience was a sequence choreographed to Leonard Cohen in which Chef Persh butchered a whole roast pig. The $300 dinner was one of the surreal elements at Lost Spirits Distillery, which closed in April. But Persh is back, embracing a new theme in a pop-up in the sky atrium at Palms Casino Resort.
Inspired by the ancient Greco-Roman theater, Persh will launch a nine-course dinner called ‘Story of a Muse’ in the sky atrium of the Palms Casino Resort’s Nove Italiano space on the 52nd floor, starting August 30. The twenty seatings with 20 people each are held every Friday and Saturday from August 30 to September 28 at 17.00 and 20.30. Tickets cost $300 each. person with an optional wine pairing for $125 and a non-alcoholic pairing for $100. Tickets are available now and on sale @cheftaylorpersh on Instagram and at storyofamuse.com.
