DC Studios’ Superman Of course, has come out of the gate with an extensive series of Merch inspired by James Gunn’s new vision for Man of Steel. This vision is particularly focused on Krypto The Superdog, which is no surprise to fans of the filmmaker.
Gunn is a noted Animal Rescue supporter who has come out on the record to say that his dog Ozu served as inspiration for Krypto’s role in the upcoming relaunch of DC Universe Films. In a speech with People Magazine, Gunn said Ozu came from a hamstring situation among 60 other dogs before reaching a shelter and being exposed to humans.
“When I first adopted OZU, I started writing Superman script. Ozu was such a terrible, uncontrollable dog – to wipe our entire house – I thought, ‘What if he had a superpower? We would be screwed. ‘And thus the cinematic crypto was born. “Gunn said,” He really just gave the manuscript the unusual aspect that made it fun to write. “

The director continued to explain how Ozu informed Krypto’s design: “We had caught Ozu’s body and used it as the model for Krypto, just changed the color of his fur. We also used hundreds of video references to the way Ozu played and fought and bitten my feet to Krypto’s on -screen actions.” And you can see the similarities between Ozu’s and Kryptos Scruffy Cuteness not only in his on -screen counterpart, but also in Merch, released into the film.
While there seems to be a kind of baby-Yoda stay of Krypto’s adorable factor in the film, it makes sense. Fortunately, it’s not on a baby -crypto -met, but it doesn’t have to be because – let’s be real – dogs are so many people’s cryptonite. Although we have to note that there will be infant clothing with crypto on them from the kyte baby who are dangerously sweet. Kyte Baby Collab is ready to fall on July 31st.

The stuffed lavish versions of crypto may be intended for children, but we can’t help but have one. On a weekend visit to the WB store at the Studio Tour in Burbank we stopped at the Superman-Pop-Up area and fell in love with crypto from the lavish fountain (do you remember them?). You can visit this hidden gem without a tour ticket, and I can’t say enough how it recovers the good old days of visiting Warner Bros. -The store in the mall back in the 90s.
Metropolis-inspired section contained products for adults, children and pets that bombarded you with MERCH for the movie. The pet section really rolled me in; There were hoodies, toys and a “Dog Dad” Superman shirt that portrayed the hero and his puppy. You could even get a crypto sheath with name embroidery for your fur child, and I was mighty to be tempted to buy one for my dog.
Sassy Woof also dropped his Superman Coll collar, leash and harness sets that are just too cool. Milkbone has come out with a limited edition with limited edition over crypto toys that are as sweet as them for their people.

There are plenty online and in go-to fandom retail stores as well. Boxlunch just released its Superman Drop that contains SUPES ‘classic colorways and crypto tees. And internet fandom cult button-up suppliers RSVLTS also released a star’s crypto print just in time for San Diego Comic-Con. I’m sure if you’re not a dog person, you might think it’s going too far, but let me raise you the ability to accessory with a crypto ring from Alex and Ani that contains Superdog (looks like OZU) during flight. Oh -and you can actually buy a flying crypto toy that should take some of us back to Sky Dancer Doll days (see probably your eyes).
The whole thing is so serious everywhere for a movie that is at least well received critically, so we are a bit obsessed with what serves everyone – in certain dog lovers. Krypto’s power is so strong already and I haven’t got a chance to watch the movie yet. I try to refrain from buying Merch for a movie before I have seen it and I will not let Krypto break down. I learned my lesson to keep this an inconceivable film rule after the first Jurassic Worldwhich should tell you enough. But if you choose to get a jump on collection for this new era with DC movies, there is no lack of Awesome Superman and Superdog products for you or your own Super Buddy.
